Manchester police say the operator of a carnival ride was drunk when a three-year-old fell off and injured himself last night.

Police say the 3-year-old fell ten feet from a swing on the Yo-Yo ride at a traveling carnival in Manchester. When EMS arrived the child was in his mother's arms bleeding from his head.

The boy has been treated and released from the hospital. He suffered cuts and abrasions.

A carnival spokesperson says that the operator of the ride saw the child removed his arms from the restraints and stopped the ride.

Police say ride operator 34-year-old Kenneth Manachio of Bristol was under the influence of alcohol and uncooperative with investigating officers.

He was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment in the first and second degree, risk of injury to a minor and interfering with police. He's being held on a 50 thousand dollar bond.

The carnival closed early on Sunday and is packing up to his next stop.

. He's being held on a 50 thousand dollar bond.

Manchester detectives, the town fire marshal and State Fire Marshal have shut down the ride pending an investigation.

Nuts! Guys charged with attempted murder don't get $50K out on 'em. I think this guy was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly and interfering, then had some warrants pop up from someplace. But that ain't news. Gotta make that LiveCam pay!
