Notice that when the judiciary in Alaska and Hawaii hinted about legalizing gay marriage by judicial fiat, the voters in those states passed constitutional amendments to their state constitutions to ban gay marriage.
Now that Massachusetts opened the floodgates, those state constitutions can be changed again by the US Supreme Court if DOMA is found unconstitutional.
