Both organizations are trying to hide their association. WHY? If it's a simple donation, there's nothing to be afraid of. Neither wants to talk about it. Why not?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold it right there. It isn't clear whether MS was referring to the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution (the guy who wrote this article) or the Alexis de Tocqueville Society (a charitable group affiliated with the United Way). MS is heavily involved in charitable giving to the United Way and the latter, so it isn't clear whether this affiliation was misconstrued to include ADTI.
