Washington State has a "Running Start" program - the state will pay the tuition (but not books) for 11th and 12th graders taking college courses at the local junior colleges. The students can get dual credit (H.S. and College). {This program is available to public/private or home schooled high school students who can pass a qualifying test.}

My first child completed 1 year of college in her senior year.

My second child is finishing his 2nd year (and has nearly completed the complete math and physics courses required for Engineering majors ..) - and will be entering the US Naval Academy at the end of June.

(Both were home-schooled until they started taking college classes with the Running Start program.)

That is exactly what I want for my girls! They are proposing the payment from the state in MI.
