ELLIS CO TX [RABIES OUTBRK]
DALLAS -- A north Texas county is dealing with a rabies outbreak.
The Ellis County health authority is warning people to stay away from wild animals, NBC 5 News reported.
Two children in separate incidents were bitten by wild bobcat cubs and tested positive for rabies.
The children had apparently found the animals while camping at Mustang Creek, near Lake Bardwell, and took them home, NBC 5 News reported.
People living in other areas are urged to call police if they see animals behaving abnormally.
TANKER WRECK DALLAS
DALLAS -- A major accident on Interstate 30 at Cooks Lane shut down parts of the highway overnight, NBC 5 News reported.
The lanes were reopened by about 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Authorities said several roads that intersect with I-30 East also were closed by the accident.
An accident involving a car and a fuel tanker caused the shutdown, police said.
One of the drivers was taken to a local hospital. There was no word on the person's condition.
An officer directing traffic also was injured when his foot was run over by a passing car, authorities said.
