Sorry Muttly I had to go feed my Wimmin ! Cylinder and Slide works my BHP's and S&W's for me........albeit all the parts are novak pretty much . I can be paid to carry a SIG for "official" duties but my Browning Designs of 1911 and 1935 are my daily carry rigs .

You saying your mag springs set ??........That ain't good, were they factory or aftermarket ?

Stay Safe and Away from Mr Flemings firearms fantisies.....:o)

FACTORY Mags...and one or two I haven't even used..!!!! Still in the ziplock bag !

A mystery. Never happened before, even once. I never honed the feed ramps though...just shot a few hundred rounds of ball...then JHPs fed fine. Hate to change this accurate stock barrel...but if I must...

A real puzzlement.

I figured Novak's got famous experience with BHPs, and I always wanted my guns tuned by him...but C&H is the spot...that's for sure. This is mostly nostalgia...but you do have me torn between them.

LOL...... I solved that dilemma by purchasing two (2) Browning High Powers.........:o)

One C&S special and one Novak is enough to make yer plinking experience even nicer albeit a pricey solution. PM ! Can't take it with ya Muttly.......drop a dime for a good time !

Stay Safe !

I have TWO as well !!!

How cool. I always carry one, and keep the other less used...but they have the same problems I suppose...so when I get my "always" one running...I'll know what to do.

I bought an Uncle Mike's L.E. Kydex belt holster today too...$20...mail order from them !!! In my situation, I carry the .38 Chief with snake-shot, and the BHP for bigger reptiles, every day and night around here. Both MUST work.

...as you may imagine.

Good combo PM........ You use a kydex holster ?? I'm pretty picky regarding holsters. I like Kramer for my wheel guns , Ted Blocker for my duty rigs and Jackass Leather for my automatics. I recently added a vehicle holster in my 4x4 for a revolver as I hate littering brass along the highways............:o)

This is my first...and I really wanted a thumbbreak nylon belt holster, or a tactical drop holster...but this thing was twenty bucks. I always use leather...but perspiration is a factor here in the summer, out in the fields...where I don't mind being conspicuous...I even TRY to be !

I need to purchase GOOD leather soon. Except for concealment...when I'd rather use an uncomfortable but hidden IWB...as close as ol' Bess can get without lubrication...shouldn't have said that...but we're evidently alone here...

I find high-ride pancake holsters slow to draw from...but what other options are there? SOB (no offense meant)...a lump sticking out behind me...yikes...rather have that IWB as well. I think I'd prefer some FRONT, high, horizontal crossdraw, under a T-shirt...but I'd need another 20 lbs. of chest muscle above it so it wouldn' show...which I am willing to do, BTW ! Unc. Mike said their "swivel" paddle only goes 5 degrees...which ain't enough for that. Well, for now, open carry is what I really need, only without absorbancy or stretching. I just hope the Kydex doesn't damage the trigger guard. If it seems that it is...I'll maybe adapt a thumbbreak to it...or look elsewhere..and put Voodoo pins in my sales receipt.

Paddle for day to day open carry is great , quick on and off . One other consideration is a surplus or custom tanker style rig if yer farming / driving the tractor in your bibs or carharts. I like the high riding pancake rigs myself. Kramer makes great ones. Do ya know any other good makers of the pancake style holster ?

There are other good makers..but I think you named the best.

I had considered a shoulder rig...have a Bianchi leather vertical...considered nylon (can't believe I'm buying this stuff...but soggy leather stretches) horizontal type, set for low grip angle...fast...but I need to carry 2 guns now...or get a DA revolver, like the 7 shot L frame or .44/.45LC...to do double duty for all the hostile critters hereabouts. That would be the right move...since my "real" revolvers are trad. SAAs, with no transfer bars...5-shooters. All my other stuff is .380 and .25 backup...so far !

Y'know...I should just stick with my browning...and get a 1911 next. I just hesitate to fire JHPs at the ground...but hey, as long as it's AWAY from me...and there are few if any rocks here...just hard as cement soil. Hoped Nyclad was the answer...but defunkt. Glasers, I guess. Yup. Talked myself into it. That's the answer.

...then of course the .380 Mustang pocketlite in the pocket..to have another option.

Hmmm. Muttly like...all over again.

...only Glasers are non-stoppers in actual serious use, some times. Grrrrrrrrrrr. Muttly want Nyclad lead NOW !

I tried...but I really don't want my first defensive rounds to be stinkers. Also not sure how accurate or fast they are at longer range, which we have out here. And people carry rifles. That's why the 9mm isn't too bad a choice, since I have it...and use +P. Really, a good .44 Mag wheelgun would do it...or a Desert Eagle, if it cycled well.

And they wonder why I'm tense...I need Stephen Hawking to figure this out better. So it's 2 guns...and a few +P .38s in the pocket...for backup. Making it hard to "Onion Field" Muttly...in his own onion field !

I would expect a bump in the economy on the 14th of Sept. as people make purchases that they have been saving for 10 years to make.

There are some very cheap good frangables out there Muttly. RCBD RBDC ? (I always screw that up) has some good stuff for keeping jacketed frag out of your eyes and thighs. I have used their stuff in shoot houses on metal plates at point blank ranges and nary a drop of my blood has been spilt........:o)

Some of the Blackwater sorts have been using it on 2 legged animals in Iraq with very good results reported. Good stuff.

I had a local lady seamstress / taylor modify some carpenter jeans for me rcently. She added a ruler pocket on left side for a spare magazine and my Surefire Aviator Light with a TID from GG&G on it, reinforced my right side front pocket for my clip folder . She also added a enlarged and reinforced my front left watch pocket to carry my seecamp backup.

BTW have ya ever seen a "beltster".........??

Hmmm. Tanker good. No wonder tankers wear them.

Muttly get tanker rig too. Always wanted one. But I do remember that little BHP safety going off-safe in the Canadian ones a few years ago...so not that one.

Yes...a good .44 is for me, ultimately, for the fields. I was even speculating about a longer cylindered super Redhawk or Dan Wesson...with 300gr. bullets...in that a lot of extra pressure and burning can be done in the ever-expanding combustion chamber, while pushing that heavy, long bullet...even before it gets to the cylinder gap...so that a shorter, handier barrel could be used, without loss of velocity...

...calling Dr. Hawking...

..may as well send Dr. Howard and Dr. Fine too.

Say Good Night Muttly.

Meet ya' at the ol' Hangin' Tree tomorrow, amigo.

Just don't try to turn yer rifle into a pistol and vis versa. Heck I've even slung my 223 contender w/ a 2-12X Burris LER scope under a light jacket when I needed some range while hiking open terrain and a long gun was not good for locals to see.

I'd stick with 115gr +P JHP's if I were you for that 9MM. They have worked well for me . Hits count.....only hits count. With your Hi Cap and low recoil you can make "more" hits count. Adjusted point of aim will make brave agressors go to ground so you can E&E to your rifle .

Stay Safe PM !

Oooo..good stuff. I will look into that ammo...as I have had .25 jacket material hit my cheek from 15 feet from a .22 bullet trap...and it permanently got my attention.

So you, like I, have your clothing tailored for the hardware. I especially liked the tuxedo session. Very Bond.

And we BOTH can say "yes..that IS a pistol in my pocket...and I AM glad to see you !"

Bond ??...........More Elmer Fudd in my case...........:o)

I like my custom cowboy boots, hawaiian shirts and my levis pressed. Albeit I had to retire my big old rodeo belt buckle aka mercedes hubcap due to dunlap disease. Almost gave myself a tummy tuck of the worst kind when I gained a few pounds if ya catch my drift.

Nope my Secret Squirrel in A Brooks Brother Suit days are long gone. Now I'm just a turd in the punchbowl of terrorism. And they don't want a taste of me.

Stay Safe and give that frangable stuff a look !

"It also blocked her effort to close a loophole in the current law that allows importation of high-capacity bullet clips."

Ok, here's the tip-off that this Editorial Writer is an IDIOT and has zero knowledge of guns. There is no such thing as a "High-Capacity Bullet Clip" - period, end of story.

It's a M-a-g-a-z-i-n-e (but we knew that). A 'clip' holds the rounds so they can then be fed into a rifles1 magazine. They are called 'Stripper Clips. I can use them for my Mauser 98 or SKS. The '03 Springfield also used them. Even the M-1 Garand used 'clips', which were ejected as the last round was fired.

1; The Mauser 'Broom-Handle' semi-auto pistol also used stripper clips to feed the magazine as I recall, but that's about it for pistols.

You are absolutely correct, and from that point on, we the people have and will be at a technical disadvantage vis-a-vis those from whom the Constitution of the United States of America was designed to protect us. This egregious law should also be put to rest on the ash heap of history where it and the 1934 law belong. Now we just have to hold our breath and hope and pray the the usual does not take place just prior the the laws lapse.
