Good thoughts!
;-D
We don't need to lose heart over every media wind that blows. All we need to do is remember that this is the United States of America, and we have a wonderful President--probably the best one we could have in these times. He sees that this will be a struggle involving the entire world, and he is taking care of business.
SecDef Rumsfeld didn't suffer from this--his support is huge. Condi Rice put the 9/11 commission to shame. People really ARE sick of this prison story. The Oil for Food scandal is out there, and the liberal media doesn't want us connecting dots to liberal senators and liberal dem donors, especially Mark Rich...but we have the documents and we have the names, and when they are translated, the scandal will blow...
As far as oil prices go, I understood at the beginning of this that Hugo Chavez and the Opec Boys (ought to be the name of a bad band) were going to make us pay and pay and pay. Didn't we all know this? If we didn't, we should have. And we're STILL not drilling offshore, or in Alaska, developing new refineries, and we're STILL allowing huge regulatory burdens...America, pay attention to the REAL issues, instead of the media-directed issues!
We have to frame the issues, and believe me, they are NOT some prison-partying media rats who like to see themselves on film. We have to set the terms of the fight. WE. Americans. The fight is not over how sweetly we should treat the naughty terrorists, the issue is HOW did the media frame the issue?
Our fight is against the media as much as it is against JFnK.
We don't care what McCain says, we don't care what liberal pundits say--we know what we are about.
