Race, I know what it feels like to be sitting amongst the enemy and I can understand how you got the impression you did get, but I sure feel better after reading chudogg's analysis. It's still hard for me to understand why Ann would put herself in the same building with Franken? He's a lightweight 'hasbeen.'
Well, there is one thing I have repeated over and over again: ANN BEAT FRANKEN ON THE FACTS!
She always had a direct answer to his insane points, he always interrupted her, and she did not get beat by a better debater, it was the way it was played against her that made it look bad!
It was NOT her performance, it was the way the crowd abused her, the way Franken wouldn't let her make a complete point, and the way the TV screen would always switch back to Franken when she spoke, it was the way they played against her that stole what should have been her night, not her doing any losing!
I dont know how to say it any clearer: Ann was not BEAT by Franken, they stole it from her by how she was treated! When I say it went to him, I meant the way the crowd reacted because of their own atitude, the camera, the interruptions, the mood of the crowd, all that!
Everyone here has been told repeatedly that Annie won on the facts and the truth, but the way they handled the presentation, it just didn't look like she did because of the way they made her look bad.
