The Honorable Elaine Chao, Doro Bush Koch and Liz Cheney Announce the Bush-Cheney '04 National "W Stands for Women" Leadership Team

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Today, the Honorable Elaine Chao, Doro Bush Koch and Liz Cheney announced the Bush-Cheney '04 "W Stands for Women" Leadership Team, surrounded by hundreds of women supporters.

"When President Bush speaks about the talent, the vision, and the strength of working women, he speaks from the heart. He has sound judgment when it comes to women's issues, and part of that has to do with the values that are reinforced by the women who support him, at home and at work," stated Chao.

America's 10.1 million women-owned businesses employ 18.2 million people and contribute 3.6 trillion dollars to the national economy. Women-owned businesses are growing at twice the rate of all U.S. firms. President Bush has twice provided tax relief to our nation and returned the economy to a path of growth. In 2004, 111 million families will save an average of $1,586 thanks to tax relief. Tax relief stimulates the economic sector and creates more job opportunities. In March, 337,000 jobs were added and 288,000 jobs were added in April, sure signs of our economy growing stronger.

"Making sure that every child receives a quality education is President Bush's top priority. He worked hard to pass the most significant education reform in a generation. No Child Left Behind is bringing high standards and accountability to public schools across the country. The President believes that education is the key to preparing our children for a success and it's the best way to strengthen our nation’s families and future," stated Koch.

Cheney said, "President Bush is committed to making sure that women and children around the world have the same opportunities that we enjoy here in the United States. The Bush Administration values that freedom is the right of every person. Today, not only are we a more secure country, but women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan are enjoying greater opportunity and prosperity because of the President’s determined leadership."

In the past two and a half years, 50 million men, women, and children have been liberated in Iraq and Afghanistan, and 25 million women and girls are now free to go to school, vote in elections, and play an active role in their societies.

Thanks for the stats. I wonder what women's issues determine the swing 5 to 10% of the female vote that Bush is missing?

I have always said:

Women hold the key to the election of Conservative politicians.

The candidacy of Schwarzenegger in rat-infested California was brilliant because it ensured the female vote.

EVERY GOP presidential candidate since WWII would have won had only MEN voted. Yes, including Bush I (2nd) and Dole.

EVERY RAT presidential candidate since WWII would have won had only WOMEN voted. Yes, including Carter (2nd), Dukakis and Gore.

Conservative/Libertarian purists have absolutely no political sense when it comes to winning and keeping elected office.

The most conservative candidate with the charisma to win the female vote is the ONLY option for the GOP.

It comes down to this:

The GOP candidate must be more attractive to men and less offensive to women. In the current instance, Bush is a man's man with enough compassion to win some soccer mom's.

The RAT candidate must be more attractive to women and less offensive to men. In the current instance, Kerry is an effete pompous wimp who men do not like. Women do not find Kerry charismatic.

Bottom line:

With a warning for Bush to keep pounding on the female vulnerability of safety and security, and on our humanitarian successes in Iraq, Bush earns FOUR MORE YEARS!

I think the female vote hinges on two factors:

1. Soccer moms have been displaced by security moms. Bush needs to make females understand their babies will be murdered by terrorists under a Kerry regime.

2. Iraq should ALWAYS have been pursued as a humanitarian issue to keep women voters on side. We ALL would have understood that Iraq was a continuation of the war on terror without saying it. Humanitarian cover would have pre-empted the bleeding heart females' criticism of the war effort no matter how it ended. Stupid move on the part of the political strategists, but certainly not fatal. NOW is the time to pick up this theme constantly and endlessly.

Men will not abandon Bush if we keep sending missiles into terrorist nests, while handing chocolates and flowers to women and children to assuage female guilt.
