Normally this would be true, but the rules governing 527's don't allow for this, so being Conservatives, we play by the rules. The other side doesn't and yesterday the FEC said they would not investigate until after the election, so now the floodgates are open for all.

I thought that the FEC rules only governed candidate advocacy? Couric isn't running for office (thank G-D!), so holding her feet to the fire with paid advertising that repeats her own quotes should be legit.

I wonder if someone finally smartened up and decided it would be in our best interest to let the right wing fight back this year with 527, since the left is doing it anyway, and Moore's movie is about to come out.
