It was impossible for the truck bomb to have brought the building down. An ANFO bomb used by the military is called a cratering charge. That is because it is a very low explosive that blow's down and out causing a crater and clears an area.
The official estimate power of the truck bomb was 4800 pounds. Eight 55 gallon barrels were used. that would make each barrel equal to 600 lbs. The truck was parked 20 feet from the building. When the truck blew up the power from it went everywhere like a big ball. Let's say the truck has six sides. Front, back, left ; right side and the top and bottom. That would result to only 800 pounds of explosive energy going in each direction. That is only one and a third barrel of explosive energy directed toward the building. Only enough to blow out some glass but hardly enough to blow up a building. There were others involved.

I agree that others were involved. The ANFO bomb as you cited would have blown out equally but the damaged did not reflect that. I remember seeing pictures of concrete reinforced pillars sheared off inside the Murrah building. Something is truly amiss and they wanted the sight cleaned up and McVeigh dead right now. Sanitization by the slick one himself.

Not to mention the comparision to the fed bldg vs the buildings on the other side of the street.
I won't even get into the cutter charges that failed to detonate on the coloumns in the fed bldg, or the warnings to the Bad Attitude Towards Freedom crew to not come to work that morning.

If the drums were surrounded by heavy material like sacks of Barium Sulfate with only the direction of the desired blast not covered it would have the effect of directing most of the energy in the desired direction. I have no idea if this was done and it would have taken several tons of weighting material to achieve this effect.
