I had a girlfriend from Nashville who thought Bostonians were cold and standoffish. I went to visit Nashville with her and I was annoyed at what I considered to be fake hospitality and insincere friendly behavior. It is just cultural perception I guess.

Well, if in person you are anything like you are here, it probably was fake hospitality and insincere friendly behavior. Most people in this country don't care for Massholes. BTW, fake hospitality and insincere behavior is at least a level of respect. Massholes don't even have this level of respect.
That's because of all the damn yankees that have invaded us in my lifetime. Most of 'em have no manners and don't know how to behave themselves in polite company. They move here to escape their northern s**tholes, then immediately start creating the same problems here.
