There is a strange dichotomey in MA. The State house and Senate are contolled by conservative dems who are social conservatives but fiscal liberals who tax and spend. But they also routinely nominate obvious libs to our supreme court and then act all surprised over their sick tyrannical decisions like this latest gay marriagge thing. At least they are trying to fight it now.

From where I sit in PA, it appears they are trying to pretend to fight it in such a way as to let the SJC take the blame.

If they really didn't want "gay marriage" to become legal on Monday, all they would have to do is pass a referendum declaring that the SJC had overstepped its bounds by creating a law, and that their ruling would not be enforced. Demand a new ruling. Let the governer issue a statement to the same effect. If the court does not reconsider - impeach them all.

It is not an abuse of power for two branches of government to disagree with the third. It's a "check and balances" thing.

But even our President, whom I mostly like, has the chutzpah to stand against certain social agendas (CFR), and will use SCOTUS as his excuse. So it isn't surprising that MA politicians will do the same with the "gay agenda."

Shalom.
