Long-winded but some good points that needed saying. I suggest that Islamofascism be used rather than the rather vague two words of 'Militant Islam'. We might even get a few liberals to join in the war if we use Islamofascism!
Actually, if you look carefully, you will note that the anti-war movement seems to enjoy their supposed parody Swastikas and Seig Heils a little too much.
I've even ran into a few leftists who take the same tack on Fascism they take on Communism; namely the system is actually a good thing, it is just the people who were in charge who were bad.
And frankly, the Left has broadly adopted much of the fascist economic program since the fall of communism. Clinton and Blair's soft socialism is pretty much the fascist economic system.
And it is hard to look at the Left's domestic policies and not see the same slide.
So, no, I don't think that stressing the fascist aspect of Islamism will do us any good, and may infact lead to the left being even more infatuated with it.
Frankly I think the fact that the left is willing to march in the street in the name of foreign fascists like Hussein is all to indictive of the direction they moving in...
