I disagree somewhat.

I think that Berg had contact with a 9/11 Hijacker at all and then went to Iraq under rather dubious circumstances casts him in a slightly suspicious light.

Having read every post in this thread, that is my conclusion. The guy was an idealistic young man, who perhaps reached out to Arabs while in school who brushed against some unsavory characters, then later went to one of the most unruly places on Earth and paid the price.
