Another strange thing I heard on TV, was that when he went to Iraq, he actually landed in Jordan and made his way to Iraq by land!

He went from here to Israel, then took a hopper to Jordan, from where he got a truck and then drove into Iraq.

At the time, it was before the insurrection when the kidnappings began, making travel dangerous like it was after his release from detention.

FWIW, I read that landing in Baghdad was more complicated than doing it the way he did, unless one had established business or connections there. (this is not confirmed)
