I think Daddy-O had to be involved in his son's death. Who knows how embarrassing this must be to have a "Right Winger" son who supports the war and loves Bush..the complete opposite of his nut-case Lefty dad? I know we all have relatives with opposite political views, but this family seems to be extreme insofar as Dad being an active ANSWER promoter and the son going all the way to Iraq to support the war and help rebuild...all on his own. I wonder who 'dad' may have called to have his son 'picked up' after he was released from Iraqi custody?

Sheezudas, you guys sucked me into this tinfoil stuff...I can't believe I just typed this LOL

"Nick told me, 'Iraqi police caught me one night, they saw my passport and my Jewish last name and my Israeli stamp. This guy thought I was a spy so they put me with American soldiers and American soldiers put me in a jail for two weeks.' ... He wasn't mad. It was just an adventure for him. He said, 'This s**t happens. It was bad luck'."

Most people would say, get me the hell out of here on the next plane, taxi, or donkey cart. Okay, maybe that's just because I'm chicken hearted and avoid trouble.

That's nice, but do you have evidence that his uncle-in-law was AQ?

In fact, other than tinfoil "gotchas' does anyone on this thread have testimony like we have from Johnny Taliban Walker's people that indicate an interest in conversion or in getting angry about Islam like Hassan Akbar in the US Army(the one who fragged officers)

Is there ONE SHRED of anything you can point to thus far, to indicate Berg was a terrorist sympathizer?

One purely speculative theory of mine is this:

Berg was in Iraq with the comm tower non-job for cover-for-action to travel around odd places.

His real mission was to act as a messenger, trying to become a go-between from Int'l A.N.S.W.E.R. to Al Queda. I mean, ANSWER can't exactly just pick up a phone to call Al Queda. To communicate with them, you have to GO to where they ARE, and fish around dropping hints, until you're picked up.

That's when you tell them the glorious news: you have come from a group "allied in the struggle against the Western imperialists" yadda yadda. You have a message, and an offer to coordinate activities, or perhaps hints on how to tweak their operations for the best effect, IOW, what and when to pull an operation which will result in the defeat of George W. Bush in November.

You expect to be treated fairly well, perhaps roughed up like the fake Japanese hostages/peace activists. After all, you can't talk to Al Queda, and just walk away like nothing happened.

But they saw the Jewish name Berg, and the Israeli passport stamp, and that trumped his ANSWER credentials. When the AG Prison scandal hit the papers.... Nick went on to serve a higher Al Queda purpose: human sacrifice on film.

That's why Daddy Berg (Mr. ANSWER) said "They killed their best friend."

The above is pure speculation on my part.

Huh?

What an strange statement to make! Who in the _ is Burkhamom?

I don't have to prove myself to you or anyone else on here -- a lot of people know who I am in real life! I led one of the rallies for Pres Bush here in OKC.

But do we know who you are for asking such a dumb question and making another statement and more importantly why?

I remember, because I told my friend when I read it. It went from 2 something to 13 something. Wonder what was edited out. Another strange aspect.

Instead, Nick says, "No thanks, I don't want to fly out, I'm going to go to Kuwait overland."

My interpretation: "my mission has not yet been accomplished."

There are many curious things about this story. I personally think the story about going to Iraq to build communications towers with no capital or equipment is bogus. That only means we do not have the full story. There are a million different explanations for what was really going on from CIA agent to AQ sympathizer to a guy who was just curious and wanted a cover story to keep himself out of trouble (it didn't work). There is not one leading explanation in my mind, but you can't blame people for being curious. And all the speculation and curiosity in the world doesn't change the fact that an American citizen was murdered in a most brutal way by a bunch of Islamic pigs. I think we all still agree it is an outrage.

1) Read alexandria's post. his high school teacher made a similar comment. This guy is a flippin leftist. They are known for making comments that refuse to lay blame where it truly belongs

2) OK, but if you're going to go to Iraq and get killed, why wouldn't it be AQ since they're running around there now.

3) Strange comments about pipe bomb? How is he relating what he was ASKED about by police/FBI in Iraq strange? If I get pulled over and am asked if I had weapons in my trunk and I relate that story later, does that mean ANYthing?

4) I'm glad to hear you say that. I just think the speculation is one-sided. Despite no evidence, we have people who've made up their mind on the kid and it won't matter what evidence comes out. Trust me.

It's not him so the point of re-dressing him is irrelevant.
No, it's very relevant. It's that killer thing, when they feel guilt about their action they will cover someone up so as they won't be humiliated or ashamed. To save embarrassment or show repentance for their action as a form of guilt.

None of that necessarily mattered at all. Just the only facts that are rather clear. My stating facts in no way lends them relevance, nor was it implied. Let someone else determine relevance..and guess at what is unknown.

That was a pretty good line. But if he was able to help them in the way your 'hypothesizing' why would they off such a valuable foe of the 'dog of Christians' (isn't that what they called Bush?). I mean they are as stupid as they are proud, which we can be thankful for, but I don't think they're quite that stupid.

I think Jill St. Claire said on her site the picture of the body on the bridge was Berg. This made me scratch my head and think horrible thoughts like "where is his head" "is it coming home with the body". What's the deal who was the body on the bridge, was it an American?

I think he was wearing the orange jumpsuit over his regular clothing and the killers just took it off before they dumped his body. As for why, perhaps they didn't want their fingerprints to be found. Or maybe carting around a body in a bright orange suit would attract attention.

But didn't an article or news report refer to possible suspicions being raised by the comm equipment he carried around? Not stating definitively that it did, but I'd be interested to know.
