This guy had more Islamofascist/al Qaeda/ contacts than the FBI has had. This smell more of the a Team al Qaeda than the minor league al Fuqra.

AND, get this, John Doe #2 was working at Logan International Airport on 9/11 - as a food handler which is how authorities think some box knives were smuggled aboard the planes.
AND, he told four psychiatrists that if anything happened at that airport, he'd be blamed.

Ok, so he wasn't singled out but it was a late night sweep. That fits with his friends at the Baghdad hotel who were concerned with him hanging out a night with locals. Of course the police and US forces would be most interested in such a person.

Yep, I've been saying he had problems with authority and had a need to prove to everyone he was right. First his dad, then everyone who told him not to go, Baghdad hotel folks told him not to hang out on the street at night, aunt's brother-in-law told him being there was danerous for them both, police and military told him to go home. I also find that disagreeing with someone in such a nice, respectful way is a handy tool when trying to throw off suspicion especially when the FBI is questioning you about 9/11 terrorists who use your computer. That's another thing, I don't know anyone who lets anyone and everyone use their computer.

That is what he looked like in the body-building picture. However, if he let his hair & beard grow while he was out of the U.S. (like the prison picture) he would look like a Middle-Eastern person. His hair looks very dark & very curly. If he had on the right clothes & kept his mouth shut...
I think that is a distinct possibility. I won't rule out some of the other theories yet, but in the end, this wouldn't surprise me.
I have my doubts that Berg was linked up to all this. However, as I read your old WP article, I seem to recall that the OKC bombing had a Philadelphia connection. Something about the son of a fireman, maybe the fire chief. A youg business major? Does anyone else remember him?

Assuming Berg and the murderous thugs sort of knew each other, what if Nick 'posed' for the video, thinking it was a PR type stunt. Notice in the video that he does not show much reaction while sitting on the floor, as if he doesn't know what is about to happen. Nick cooperates in filming the PR stunt, but at the last moments, Zarqawi and company perform the real act.
Here's what I've gathered: Fall semester 98 he did a Cornell Univ engineering/electronics program in Uganda. Interesting that he earns himself a scholarship to continue Cornell studies due in part to this program but he drops out and moves to OK. I haven't seen dates but at some point he's making bricks in Ghana. In Kenya he's setting up communication equipment. And somewhere in Africa he's out drilling water wells.

I don't have the link but found it googling but it said he went to Uganda on an engineering program through Cornell (Spring semester 98). The brick making adventure was in Ghana. But who knows what's what at this point.
