You mean you could listen to day 437 of the "Iraq Torture/Abuse Photo Scandal".
I love Glenn but he's killin' me with his drumbeat. I guess he wants to be the "voice" that the Muslim community lacks when denouncing horrible acts, but move on man...

I'm just hoping that Michael Savage is done running the audio of Nick Bergs murder. I just can't bear to listen to it anymore.

I was listening and I just saw Nick Bergs father on TV which Glenn talked about. The father said the Al Queda killed their BEST FRIEND!!! Nick was there to help! Of course it showed the father pounding his War is not the Answer poster in the front lawn and then blame Washington instead of Al Queda!!

I agree. I normally enjoy Glenn Beck, but he needs to give this overblown "slightly worse than hazing" incident a rest.
Glenn's show overall is the most entertaining radio talkshow period. Almost nothing makes me laugh as much as his material sometimes does.

I have to take a break from him. I'm a little weary of his "platitudes". ie "we shouldn't be angry, we should be committed." Right now I'm "Michael Savage" pissed and Beck's too mushy for the moment.

Another station started running Laura Ingraham opposite Beck, and I've been listening to her program more than Beck's.
But Beck does have quite the subtle, but overt parody material. I loved his baseball color, adding an add in to every reporting of the action.
Actually, I stopped listening because he changed his theme music at the beginning of the year. :)

They all lurk on FR. Some admit it, some don't. Free Republic is "the cutting edge of the cutting edge," and they all mine here for show ideas. It's obvious to freepers who are careful radio listeners.

I agree. I normally enjoy Glenn Beck, but he needs to give this overblown "slightly worse than hazing" incident a rest. I agree that the incident was not unlike hazing, but I have never, ever understood the concept of hazing, have never heard a literate, logical, thoughtful reason for it, and think that the outrage about this incident should shine the light on hazing rather than vice-versa.

I listen to Glenn but I am sick of him lately. He's totally bought into the outrage at the prison "atrocities". I want to tell him...."It was colassally stupid, wrong and they should, and will, be punished. Now MOVE ON!"

It's obvious to freepers who are careful radio listeners. I'm fairly sure I came up with the Kerry 'Flipper' theme idea on my own, posted it here, and then it wound up on Ingraham's program. My idea, or great minds think alike...?

His new theme music is actually modern jazz. It's not just a dumb drumbeat, there are a lot of rhythms within that and there is some interesting harmony and melodic progression. It's pretty well done.

I've become a big believer in emerging ideas being developed independently, but sometimes you just "know" by the timing that you came up with one first. I wouldn't rule it out. Like I say, they all lurk. Some admit it (Hugh Hewitt, Beck) but most don't.

Hmmm.....? I thought Laura stole the theme music from Jim Quinn's Warroom? Laura has always been a bit too monotone and unimaginative to me.

I've always fancied Jim Quinn (don't care for Rose too much) as the funniest guy on the radio. Possibly because he has a sense of humor combined with a solid firsthand knowledge of day-to-day politics and world events. Sometimes Beck lends the impression he's heavily prepped.. but, I enjoy his program nonetheless.

You beat me to it. I was just going to say if you like Glenn beck, you'll love Jim Quinn. Not afraid to discuss Mena, PROMIS, Vince Foster, Ron Brown and others. His best interviews are with David Shippers. Speaking of his humor I do love his theme song for the Vince Foster stories ..."Sitting on a park bench - BANG!". From Jethro Tull.

I like Laura-but the station that plays her show here later in the evening has already turned down its wattage and ya get overlap from some other show that gets really tedious.
She is side-slittingly funny! A hard wit and merciless sarcasm-I LIKE IT! hehe
But she is still awkward with her callers, often not responding and often way too abrupt. I would not consider calling her cause she really doesn't seem interested in inter-acting. Big bummer, there.
But....she has an amazing intellect. Hard to ignore.
