"Lobsters aren't stuffed animals," said William Rivas-Rivas, spokesman for PETA, whose Web site lauds actress Drew Barrymore for her desire to release all lobsters from holding tanks. "Their pain and fear are real."

Then put them out of their misery and send 'em my way. I promise I'll make sure they're safely and humanely disposed of.

Well, small world. The company I work for operates one of these things and it drives me nuts. After 3 years of keeping this migraine running I can see why AGE (Company that built them) went out of business. Have you found the perfect replacement claw string yet? I can't find anything that lasts more than a couple weeks.

Oh, and note to everyone: what they say about the music freaking out the lobsters is true. I call them "Pavlov's Lobsters"

I sure wish the claim of $2K a week were true. As far as I can figure, by the time you figure in the 10 grand for the machine, maintenance costs, lobsters, filters, filter media, etc etc ad nauseam, we should end up losing only about half what we paid for the thing over the next couple years. If it were my decision, we wouldn't have had that thing in the first place.

Well, it's not like we're forcing the lobsters to wear women's panties on their heads or anything.

I wasn't aware wearing panties on one's head was a bad thing.
