Nonstop news coverage of Iraqi prisoner abuse has yet to become sensational, some insist. But they agree it ultimately could exact a toll on the U.S. military.

"Yes, it must sadden our troops to see these accounts, it must make them angry. Maybe it does expose them to greater danger," said ABC's Ted Koppel.

WEEGEE Calls Press 'Lying Liars'

From today's headlines:

Daily Mirror photos officially fake

Globe caught with pants down: Paper duped into running porn photos

By balanced I guess they mean they run the genuine AND the fake photos.

I am getting more outraged at the lack of outrage from media. It obviously doesn't play into their agenda to cover this story. It will be gone from the news by tomorrow.

I read that the Today Show gave it one line in their news report and blamed the prison scandal for the beheading.

I tried calling Today and the voice message system was already full.

I found the telephone number for:

NBC's Director of Political Coverage:Phil Alongi (212)664-5328

I had to leave a rather length message but I think he got the point.

He also left the number to the DC News Desk on his greeting:

202-583-5222

Keep this story alive.

Polling data might say these images have damaged public support for the war," Mr. Naegele said. "And I am sure they are damaging to military morale as well.

That's EXACTLY what they want!!! I detest liberals!!!!

Hey Ted! What about the public's "right" to be informed about what's dumped behind the abortion clinics? When do we get 4 weeks coverage on that? When are you guys EVER going to tell the truth about that? Hypocrites. The ONLY reason the press is making an issue of this is too score points off Bush... and our troops overseas

Amen....worth repeating.

But press freedom "is part of what they're fighting for. Our forefathers wanted an informed electorate," Mr. Koppel said.

Thus revealing his true agenda, which is the defeat of President Bush in November. Otherwise, what value would the "elctorate" gain from seeing military prison photos? They have zero to do with a presidential election, unless one of the candidates either is in the photos, or authorized the actions in the photos. Since neither is true, then TK is blowing smoke.

I wish a comm person over at the RNC would get this out on talking points for the weekend shows. If only to show that the media is lying when they pretend its all about "the public's right to know".

What about the public's "right to know" what gets dumped behind your local abortion clinic? Why hasn't the media ever done a 4-week pictorial on that?

touched it up a bit.

The Order of Arts and the Letters was created by decree of May 2, 1957 to reward the people who were characterized by their creations or their achievements in the artistic or literary field, or by their contribution to the radiation for arts and the letters in France and in the world. It includes/understands three ranks, knight, officer and commander. To be named knight it is necessary to be thirty years old at least. " In 1994, Koppel was named a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the Republic of France. "

When you lay in the gutter with vermin as the Partisan Press does with liberals any venal and destructive lie would seem fair and balanced.

Want to canvass you all with this idea - is the crazed media frenzy about this the Partisan Press attempts to change the focus off of the 9/11 Commissars? Ijaz, Guiliani have testified and no coverage. Were the cards, emails and letters demanding Gorelick step down and testify getting a little too demanding?

"If photos are available in the age of 24/7 cable television, they'll be shown so much viewers may feel like the images are being hyped. But turn it around. Supposing the photos were absent and we simply heard an account? Would it have been the same story?" Mr. Koppel asked.

No, indeed. That would have been the Berg decapitation story, wouldn't it, Mr. Koppel?
