Early this Morning, the President started his day at the Pentagon for another briefing from Sec. Defense Rumsfeld.
Before boarding Marine1 this Morning, the President spoke with the White Press Corps on the grounds of the White House where he express outrage at the brutal murder of an American citizen who was in Iraq to help rebuild the country, and then expressed his condolences to the Berg family for their loss.
Pres. Bush flew on Marine1 to NIH where he promoted the administration's "Reading First" program with curriculum developed in part from NIH research into why millions of students cannot read up to their grade level. So far, the "Reading First" initiative involves 73,000 teachers, more than 1 million students and a commitment to spend $5 billion over five years, Pres. Bush reported.
Pres. Bush also met with the President of Angola, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, in the Oval Office of the White House to discuss HIV/AIDS and education in Angola.

Quote of the day:
Bush said on Wednesday that the beheading of American Nick Berg in Iraq was unjustified and intended to shake U.S. will but vowed, 'We will complete our mission.'

Amen and AMEN!!! For the first time that I can remember, he actually looks like he needs them. Let's double our efforts for our President and First Lady, everyone. This can't be an easy time for anyone in his Administration and we know what an ethical man this President is - these photos must be
killing him and then there's the brutal execution of an American, proof terrorists still wants all of US dead!!!

The office puts years on the occupant, but decades on those who must bear the kind of weight this president is bearing.

Video image, to be released Wednesday, May 12, 2004, of first lady Laura Bush in a campaign ad for her husband, President Bush. Mrs. Bush is playing a starring role in a groundbreaking Internet ad blitz in her husband's re-election campaign. The First Lady, former teacher and librarian, talks about the President's education policies in the commercial being placed on about three dozen Internet sites, many of which cater to women.

No President since Lincoln has had to bear the burdens President Bush has had thrust upon him.
The Lord obviously has confidence in his steadfastness to ask so much of him........

Rumsfeld, who has been supported by President George W. Bush amid demands from some Democrats for his resignation, sharply defended the military's handling of the abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad.
