As many as 25 insurgents were killed, the coalition said. Has this asshat bothered to note that he's losing dozens of men every freaking day?

I thought I heard some "blip" of news on Fox News at 6 about some negotiation with Sadr or some agreement.
Anybody else hear that?

Cleric: Americans fighting Islam not terrorismHe just figured that out? Bush is wisely using the age-old technique known as "divide and conquer" to defeat Islam, but for politically reasons can't say so.

"Look at what they have done. Look what the torture they have committed against our detainees. Could anyone who came to rid us of Saddam do this?" al-Sadr said in what was described as an open letter to the American people. I have looked at what we have done...and realized just how dead you would be right now if Saddam hadn't been removed. Could anyone who came to rid you of Saddam abuse a few prisoners? Sure, it's war and bad stuff happens from time-to-time. Make you a deal, Al-Sadr - we'll send our 7-14 bad boys/girls to jail for their misdeeds, if you hand over the 5 who killed Nick Berg. What? You say you have no power over Al-Queda? Then get outta our way, you worm. We've got killers to kill.

As many as 25 insurgents were killedGood job! Sadr is now asking for negotiations--said he wants his forces to join the new Iraqi Army!!!!!! Looks like the U.S. Army has assisted him in his personal decision making process.

Cleric: Americans fighting Islam not terrorismSame diff.

"Cleric: Americans fighting Islam not terrorism (Muqtada al-Sadr)" What exactly does "fighting Islam" mean?
Does it mean we don't want it imposed on us?
It that's "fighting Islam" than I'm for fighting Islam.

Yeah, right.
1. We removed Saddam, who had been killing Shi'ites at bargain rates.
2. We allowed the Shi'ites to renew their annual pilgrimages to the shrine of Ali, wherein Fat Boy now resides awaiting a bullet.
3. We lose men trying to protect "holy" buildings.
Fact is that the Iraqis aren't buying, not even Sadr's neighbors, who are less than happy with holes in their walls and know perfectly well who started the whole thing. This dog don't hunt.

It was the first time al-Sadr had appeared before reporters since his militia, Al-Mahdi Army, launched attacks on coalition troops in Baghdad and several other cities in early April. He said American forces were fighting Islam, and not terrorism in Iraq....Well it's about time. We've needed to fight Islam from the get-go.

No negotiations. But Sadr said that he would stop fighting if some council of religious leaders in Najaf that is meeting now tell him too. But the CPA said it won't talk to Sadr or this council.

Sadr is now asking for negotiations--said he wants his forces to join the new Iraqi Army!!!!!! <<< I heard a snippet this morning saying that we were thinking of letting some of Sadr's insurgent army fight on the same side as us in.......I don't remember....Fallujah or somewhere.
Are we out of our minds?
I wouldn't trust one of those bastards for one second unless he was bound hand and foot and two of my buddies had their M-16's trained on him!
I'm with Rush whose thought after seeing the Berg video was to call Bush and tell him to give the military carte-blanc to level the place. This pussy footing around is beginning to sound a bit like how we failed to win decisively in Nam. Hate to say it.....but we're looking indecisive.
