I just got a FReepmail from somebody who hasn't even signed up yet:

Why do you have to sic the moderator on me for what I said?

I mean, can't I point out that Kerry paid a price for freedom in this country without being suspected of being a troll?

I say you're a troll.

How does somebody get a tomorrow signup date?

My guess would be if your sign-up region past the international date-line...

If you are as ignorant about PRESIDENT Bush and your "war hero" Kerry as you show in your posts, then you need to get up to speed before posting that drivel.

If you're not ignorant, then you're a jerk and a troll.

And no, I'm not going to enlighten you, except to say we all know about Kerry's medals, and how he got them. And when does somebody get DRAFTED into the National Guard? Did you read anything about PRESIDENT Bush's service? We all know that he volunteered for Viet Nam.

As for Kerry's policies, they're quite clear from his voting record. I am going to assume you know his voting record. If not, google it.

And I don't like liberals. Or trolls. Or massivly ignorant people who have the resources of FR and don't use them before shooting off their mouth.

So if the shoe fits...

Hey, finally, a decent statement from Kerry that doesn't reek of politics.

Yes --- I think we do have to give credit where credit is due --- I certainly can't imagine Bill or Hillary showing any class or dignity even at a time like this --- this would have just been another opportunity for either to play politics.

I don't think anyone wants to hear what they have to say, anyway.

Welcome to FreeRepublic. Now, having gotten that out of the way:

"Kerry paid his dues in Nam." *snort*

"And we are not about to be overrun. Dirty bombed maybe, but not overrun." *now THAT'S what I call sweet relief*

"It's just a pro forma press release that says basically nothing." *so his statement is insincere as well as being paid for by his election committee? That's a poorly cut jib!*

"Pour yourself a drink and take a sedative." *I'm with you on this one, booboo24!*

Don't get your hopes up. Kerry will somehow use this for political gain. Unfortunately, Nic Berg's father has come out swinging against our country.

Don't let Kerry fool you. He would NEVER make a political move without an agenda. He's been doing it for almost 40 years, and I don't see him changing now.

Bush didn't volunteer so I think Bush should focus on the war we're in and not the war from 35 years ago.

Bush isn't & hasn't focused on Viet Nam. Dems started with VN & Bush and haven't let up since doing so during the 2000 election. Kerry keeps bringing up VN especially when he drags out another Band of Brothers to help corroborate his twisting stories of what really happened in VN for him to get all those miraculous medals in such a short period of time. Most vets don't talk about their medals; Kerry seems obsessed with wanting everyone to know each & every detail about his. The funny part is that his stories aren't adding up. Not "funny, ha ha"...

Of course, Mr. Kerry took the prison abuse scandal and ran with it, never concerning himselfwith the blood costs that would be paid in Iraq. Kerry is a real sick SOB. I bet you he measured how the Nick Berg killing helps or hurts him. Kerry is the coldest bastard ever to run for the White House.

booboo24, I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but:

"Well, I mean...no one appreciates being dirty bombed."*kind of cavalier when compared to your statement about "a big part of that job is to prevent the need to kill 1 billion people."*

"I mean whole blocks can be unlivable and a few hundred people might die a couple decades prematurely." *are you willing for it to be your block, your friends' blocks, your family's blocks; a few hundred people dying prematurely and unliveable blocks due to a dirty bomb is not acceptable*

"But if we are going to kill 1 billion people to prevent the possibility of a dirty bomb then we might as well just blow up the whole world." *this is really an oversimplified line worthy of a Bruce Willis movie. You can do better, booboo24*, and where are you getting the 1 billion figure? Your "if/then" argument is just screwy (have forgotten the name of this fallacious argument so I'll just go with "screwy").*

"We have a job to do. It is a difficult and serious job. And a big part of that job is to prevent the need to kill 1 billion people." *which is why great pains are being taken to target the enemies and spare the civilian population...often at the risk of coalition troops*

"When we have lost a half million combat soldiers and see no end in sight, then maybe we can follow Truman's example." *my friend, we do not want to reach anywhere near a half million combat soldiers before taking measures up to and including Truman's example. " No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country." (Gen. George S. Patton)

"Until then, I say have a drink, take a sedative, and be thankful for every day we don't have to act like genocidal maniacs to preserve our way of life." *defending one's country and peaceful way of life is not acting like a genocidal maniac...make no mistake, booboo24, Western Civilization has a big old Islamist target on it and sitting around sedated & drunk is a surefire guarantee for a much bigger disaster down the line with a lot more firepower involved and a lot more death & destruction.

booboo24, I know this is unsolicited advice, but if you haven't read The Art of War, I suggest you pick up a copy along with a couple of yellow highlighters. We are not playing a video game with these folks...there is no reset. Take care.

Kerry actually listed "cutting off heads"??

Yes, he did. Below is a quote from his testimony before congress, which I picked up from Wintersoldier.com:

"I would like to talk on behalf of all those veterans and say that several months ago in Detroit we had an investigation at which over 150 honorably discharged, and many very highly decorated, veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia. These were not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command.

"It is impossible to describe to you exactly what did happen in Detroit - the emotions in the room and the feelings of the men who were reliving their experiences in Vietnam. They relived the absolute horror of what this country, in a sense, made them do.

"They told stories that at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.

"We call this investigation the Winter Soldier Investigation."

-- John Kerry, testifying before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, April 22, 1971
