I would personally prefer
(as I'm sure would Berg's family)
not to look at folks being decapitated
on my evening news, American or otherwise.
I can't fault CBS for choosing not to show
a decapitation on network TV.

I am sorry you feel that it should not be shown. However, I think you are as wrong as can be. Sorry if the real world interrupts your mourning for the last episode of Friends, but these people want to destroy our way of life if not our very beings.

We need to be reminded that there is such evil in the world to steel ourselves to our defense. And I agree with other posters that in this case it is not gratuitous violence. The violence serves a purpose.

On their side, to intimidate and force us to withdraw - until they strengthen their hand sufficiently to slaughter us in our own neighborhoods.

The purpose for us is to serve as a reminder that Freedom is won with blood, and that anything not worth dying for isn't worth living for.
