I understand the outrage, but think for a minute -- CBS, especially, is sensitive to something like that. The FCC has all the broadcast outlets walking on eggshells right now. The notion of the airing of the full video is probably sending the executives in to spasms right about now.

In fact, they would make a miniseries out of it so as to spread it around some more.

I know, and I agree. I don't expect them to air it for a minute.,
I would, however, like to hear Dan Rather, editor of the CBS Evening News, say: "We have received many letters and phone calls exhorting us to air this video, given the considerable airtime that the photos from the Iraqi prison has received on our news broadcasts. However, we cannot because the sheer brutality and inhumanity of this act make it unsuitable for the public airwaves. But I wish for you to know that this despicable, brutal acts is so far beyond the humiliation visited upon the Iraqi prisoners who inhabit the maximum security cellblock that they should not be mentioned in the same breath. The difference between our two societies is when a U.S. soldier commits a wrong, we expose and rectify that wrong. They celebrate theirs. May God bless our troops and the United States."
Think he'll say it?

I doubt anyone here wants them to actually air the video. The point is that the prisoner abuse situation could have been handled in a more discreet manner as well. But CBS chose instead to get in a cheap shot at the administration, at the expense of the safety of Americans.

Thanks for the ping. Even though I sent an email earlier this afternoon to (Rather)at
60II@cbsnews.com telling him he had blood on his hands, I also just called. Woman said, oh, no we can't show the video, it's just too gruesome. I said please note in your records that there would not have been this beheading, if CBS hadn't aired the photos. Snottily, she said "well, that's your opinion." Me - yes it is; please make a notation in your records.

This is unbelievable! Where is the outrage? The world goes crazy because of a few photos of naked suspected terrorists, but when an American civilian is savagely decapitated by terrorists the main media is silent.

I haven't watched CBS (Commie Bull Shit) in years.
There's not much that I do not hate about CBS. It is not worthwhile and I shall not waste my time and dishonor myself in seeing their BS.
However, I shall call and protest.
(Not that it will matter to those Bastards )
(Any So Called Major "Network" that thinks ANDY ROONEY et al is a great commentator does not get my respect and never shall......
(I won't even begin to say just what I think about DAN RATHER! Well, I do admit that it gives me some great consternation that he, "that bastard" , is from the Great State of Texas. And It Is Absurd To Even Refer to Him As an AMERICAN
May CBS Burn in satan's Hell for now and eternity!
