DENVER (AP) -- Colorado's attorney general decided against criminal charges Tuesday in nine alleged sexual assaults involving University of Colorado football players, blaming evidence concerns and the reluctance of women to go forward with the cases.

Attorney General Ken Salazar, tapped as a special prosecutor by Gov. Bill Owens at the height of the recruiting scandal in February, said a "thorough review" by his task force resulted in a unanimous decision against charges. The decision was "based upon evidentiary considerations and/or the expressed wishes of some victims not to be subjected to the criminal justice process," Salazar said.

Again, the criminals go free. Time to hit the golf courses and look for the real rapists.

Exactly.

I don't blame some of the victims for not wanting to testify. Look what happened in Kobe's case.

Also, I sure have heard no outrage at the fact that Mike Denton tried to hire a hit man. Just compare that to the media frenzy over Johnny Rocker daring to express a few OPINIONS.

i say fire the president of the university and the football coach.

where there's smoke there's fire. in the late 80's there was the readers' digest article that quoted the cu police department, saying that campus detectives showed their procedure was to show a football roster to any woman reporting a rape.

i'm a cu graduate, so don't tell me i don't know what i'm talking about.

To pamper and give a pass to athletes has gone too far. I thought it was odd that in the Jayson Williams trial his shooting to death of his dog just months before killing the limo driver was not admissible.

No doubt. Jayson Williams committed manslaughter. He got off with nothing. The DA was in the tank bad on this one.

Tina Fey of "Saturday Night Live" said: "Former NBA star Jayson Williams was acquitted of manslaughter charges, although by all accounts he did pull the trigger in the shooting death of his limo driver. The verdict sends a clear message that, no matter where you live, retired sports stars are allowed to kill you."

Six months before that death Williams had also threatened to shoot another former NBA star. He was interviewed on "Catherine Crier Live."

yes....that whole Williams thing makes me sick....

sure, I think it was accidental...but still, he took a loaded gun, he was drinking, that is just as bad as a guy leaving a tavern drunk and driving his car and eventually killing someone....

the rich, the powerful, the minorities among us, the sport stars.....these people just do not suffer the consequences of what they do....

that is why I am so angered at the Kobots.....the biggest advantage in the world goes to the rich and powerful:.....the defense has skirted the rules by saying such outrageous things about the victim and letting the media to their delight , run with it....

I go with the underdog everytime....

BTW....it was not a big story but I read that RAy Lewis, another innocent athlete ( who happens to be black) paid off the estate of one of the men that he did not kill.....the amount was undisclosed......

yep....I always pay off people that I did not kill......
