Read about this in Boston papers. While it's sad it also was so unnecessary. She had no license, was going 90 mph, passing in the breakdown lane; most of the passengers were not belted in; there were no booster seats for the kids. Was she in a big hurry to meet her beau from the Internet? And what's with bringing 6 other people to what would normally be a one-on-one situation?

While the deaths are tragic, consider that so many things
contributed to this accident. I don't have an SUV but I'll bet anyone who drives one recklessly risks getting into an accident like this. Heard about one SUV rollover (with fatalities)in Boston awhile back--but they (teens and
young adults) were speeding and weaving in and out of lanes.

This was a brand new car (1,000 miles on it or so) and chances are it was made well. However, reckless driving
was ultimately what caused the deaths of these seven
people.

Anyone that drives risks getting killed. The faster the vehicle is traveling, the greater the chances of dying, regardless of make or model of vehicle. She bought the farm for everyone due to her stupidity and ignorance. Most people out there are poor to average drivers at best, and 95 percent should never drive over 50 mph, as they have no idea how to regain control of a vehicle once they lose control. The faster the speed, the greater the chances of losing control.

Everyone on board that vehicle paid for her stupidity with their lives..

Reckless driving, combined with a vehicle whos dynamics, like it or not, make it far more likely to roll over. Roll over contributed to the death in this accident, as it does in most roll over accidents.

I know people here get all jumping ugly when you bring up the facts about these vehicles, but its reality. Yes, these cars have higher centers of gravity and are far more prone to roll over, when a car rolls over you are far more likely to be thrown from the vehicle, you are far more likely to wind up with head and upper torso indjuries, you are far more likely to be crushed.... that's reality folks.

Cars and other vehicles with lower centers of gravity by and large don't "Roll" in many accidents where SUV's will.. they will spin out, and do other things, but it takes a hell of a lot to get a care to roll over, usually it involves the car hitting and embankment or other thing that puts the car airborne at an odd angle to get a passenger car to roll.

Many people who drive SUV's don't respect this reality, they weave them in and out of traffic like they are in some sports car.

The facts are the facts, and as much as people here may not want to hear it... when involved in accidents, SUV's are more likely to roll, and if your vehicle rolls you are more likely to be seriously injured of killed. That's reality.
