To add to your list of crazy leftist statements of Loftus
just last night he said
5. Benon Savon and Kofi Annan's son both were on the take in the oil-for-food program.

That's called bait for the unwary. Every conman knows how to play a mark like that.
Bottom line is that anyone who believes this war is about oil and not terrorism, has such cloudy and faulty judgment as not to be trusted on other matters, especially intel.

So when he says something I like, that's bait for the unwary.
When he says something I don't like, that's leftist propaganda.
O.K. It's getting clearer for me now.
I think I'm beginning to understand.
Thanks for the help.

"So when he says something I like...When he says something I don't like..." "Like" has nothing to do with it. It has to do with reliability and Loftus comes saddled with so many whacked out beliefs that it impairs his ability to make reliable intel judgments. Loftus' politics show him to be reality-challenged and that it not a plus in his line of work.

Thanks, DES, but maybe I could have said it graphically, as well...

Loftus' story actually took place over a week before the Pakistani "offensive" - indeed he said the US forces may have killed AZ, they were getting his brothers DNA from Egypt to try and ID the body (i heard the show and posted it). But it didn't pan out.
By the time (over one week later) the Pakistani operation made the claim that they had killed AZ, Loftus said it was a ruse right away. So you are correct, it was US intel, but the time frame of the events was shifted.

"Loftus' story actually took place over a week before the Pakistani 'offensive'." I remember it differently, but then therein lies John's refuge and dodge, because there are no transcripts of "The Loftus Report" that stand as a testament to his credibility, only the recollections months later as to what he may or may not have said. --Boot Hill

I remember posting it - one night he just popped up with this story of the possible AZ killing and the DNA stuff with the brother. then, nothing, no followup, nothing. then, all of a sudden, the Paks claimed to have gotten him, and I remember posting that it was confusing and the timeline seemed disjointed.
let's see what he comes up with tonight - he claims that Zarqawi is not (was not) in Fallujah. where is this SOB?
To: Boot Hill
i'm wrong, at first glance, I thought these two stories were related.
To: oceanview
"let's see what he comes up with tonight" Since you appear to be a Bay Area FReeper (like myself), I presume you will be listening to WABC via the internet, like I'm doing right now.
While I was watching the RealPlayer window it occurred to me that with the right software RealPlayer could recognize the words being spoken and be displaying the text of what was being said, in real time. And using primitive voice recognition, even discerning between "speaker 1", "speaker 2", etc., to which the listener (us) could supply actual names like John Batchelor or John Loftus. Now we could have transcripts of this or any other broadcast.
I smell serious money to made here...

Loftus is up now. Once again, "western intelligence talking about a coming dirty bomb attack".

For the record...
What seems to be unrecognized by some, is that John Loftus is a *hard-left* source of mis-information, speculation and out-right invention. Here are just a few of the whacky things John Loftus supports and promotes.
- A congressional investigation into the Bush-Nazi family ties.
- That Bush aided known terrorists in the Saudi Family to escape the U.S. in the days following 9-11.
- That this war is all about oil.
- That Jonathan Pollard is a victim and should be released from prison.
No one can be a more unreliable source of intelligence than a source so biased and confused, that he can't even come to grips with the most fundamental fact of this war and that is, we are at war because of terrorism, plain and simple.
John Loftus is so lacking in credibility that even the host of his primary promoter on radio (The John Batchelor Show) has publicly taken him to task for his lack of reliability.
