Just the other day, I heard this policeman's story recalled on radio. Perry was filing his
retirement papers. When the news of a plane hitting the WTC came in, he grabbed his shield
and headed straight to the WTC.

I think he was retiring from the NYPD to get a law degree, and he also something of an acting career going on at the time, too.
