Statement by Dr. Peter Lund on John Kerry's Opposition to Medical Malpractice Liability Reform
George W. Bush ^ | May 10, 2004

ERIE, PA – Today, Peter Lund, vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and past president of the Erie County Medical Society, issued the following statement addressing John Kerry's record of opposition to medical malpractice liability reform:

"Pennsylvania voters have a clear choice this November. President Bush has said that no patient has ever been cured by a frivolous lawsuit, but John Kerry has opposed or voted to block medical malpractice liability reforms at least ten times.

"President Bush understands that medical malpractice liability reform means greater access to affordable health care for more Americans. Kerry would rather keep the trial lawyers in his party's base happy, while patients foot the bill for constant litigation with higher fees."

That rules the voters out. The Sheep will always follow the loudest voice - and this guy is a whisper.

Considering that doctors are, depending on the statistics you can find, somewhere in the TOP three reasons for deaths... they need to police themselves better. In PA doctors over see themselves.. and I understand it is like that in most states.

When the gods in white coats submit to oversight like the rest of the professionals in the world then I will think about voting to limit medical liability.
