So, why were they on television? What advantage to England is having them appear? Are they threatening the CIA?

I can't watch any of this tonight because it makes me so angry. I know you know the answers to your questions though. England and the rest are useful idiots in a year orchestrated to include O'Neal, Wilson and Clarke. This is nothing but the continued effort to undermine the President and his policies and much of it is very reminiscent of what when on among the hard left during the 60s.

I'll probably regret this but didn't you guys love Hackworth a few weeks ago? Up until this prison episode his articles were treated like holy writ on Freerepublic.

"In 1965 in Vietnam, I saw a very connected intelligence captain torturing a POW with a field-telephone wire attached to his testicles and decided my personal belief system outweighed his father’s four stars. When I told him I’d shoot him if he didn’t cease and desist, the atrocity came to a screeching halt.

Uh, can anyone answer this? How many "4-stars" were there before 1965, and of those, how many had sons who were captains in MI?

Is there another "FreeRepublic" out there that I don't know about?

On FreeRepublic, Hackworth has been treated as a self-promoting jerk who always predicts disaster on the battlefield for our military and is always wrong in his prediction.

Here is a FreeRepublic search on Hackworth. Knock yourself out trying to find the few posts that had anything good to say about him. Ping us when you find them.

He has not been believed here since the war in Afghanistan.

I have not believed Hackworth since before Desert Storm was launched.

Here is the gloom and doom that Hackworth predicted for the Gulf War.

The cover story for Newsweek magazine for the week of January 21, 1991 was “We Will Win, But…” by “America’s Most Decorated War Hero”. Here are quotes from Hackworth’s January 21, 1991 Newsweek cover story article:

“Casualties won’t be 200 Americans dead a week, as in Vietnam. They will be more than 200 dead an hour in the first round.”

“The aircraft arranged in the Gulf are the wrong mix of aircraft”

“The Iraqis should give a good account of themselves in air attacks.”

“The Abrams M-1A1 tank is a fuel guzzler and a real liability in a roadless terrain”

“For the most part, from rifleman to battalion commander, these dedicated (American) soldiers and Marines have never seen war. And in my judgment they haven’t yet been made hard enough physically and mentally to survive the horror of potential combat with Iraq’s veteran Army.”

As it turned out, the Iraqi Army was totally routed at a cost of 137 U.S. dead for the entire war.

If transported in a time machine back to World War II, Hackworth would be great for telling you how to take out a German machine gun nest.

In regards to how to fight a 21st Century war, Hackworh's predictions are less valuable than the military predictions of my 13 year old daughter. At least my 13 year old daughter has the wisdom to tell you that she hasn't got a clue about the subject.

Hackworth is not only an accomplice to blackmail but also a liar.

We can quote some Shakespeare: "'Tis a pity he's a Demi whore..."

"Didn't the Secretary of the Army tell the senators that their staff were notified back in January(?)? I also remember the same statement being made in the House. Our guys tried to be gracious and said something to the effect that "of course, that wasn't good enough." They didn't want the congressmen to look incompetent(TOO LATE)!"

Those RATS have been sitting on this while they plotted on how to come in for the 'big bang' to bring this administration down.
