Matthews says Congress informed by Frederick in February. Chris reads from the letter....Sounds pretty generic.

One rep said they'd forward to DoD, which Hardball called but got no response.

Lawson up (in meantime Hardball contacted other Congressmen the Frederick family said they contacted and none had any record of it).

Lawson says started contacts actually around the end of January, before February.

Lawson went to David Hackworth's website and saw a notice that he was looking for anyone with info on the goings on in Iraq so he contaced him.

Ack, Hackworth up and Chrissy asks him what he thinks of the pics. Hack disgusted (can't argue with that). Atrocities common in war says Hack.

Hackworth just called Karpinksi "Karpowski".

Tells me how well he's versed himself about this saga. I'm sorry--anyone can misspeak. But until he demonstrates honor or credibility I'll take it as careless or ignorant.

He just said the little people at the bottom are being the scapegoats.

(could it be vice versa?)

Hackworth said in January he started "getting reports" (reading the newspaper, per chance?).

I missed how he ended up contacting CBS, but he basically had Lawson contacting him in March which led to the CBS contact.

Chrissy asks Lawson how or why he thinks the photos were taken. Lawson says ask the CIA, this is a longtime strategy. He just said that his nephew told him a guy took the pictures to show other prisoners to use as pressure.

Oh, Lawson says even though he and his family don't like it, he said he thinks this worked.

Lawson said his nephew's notes were made January 14. He says his nephew's notes comport exactly with "the secret report" that came out in March (the Taguba Report).

Hackworth just correctly said "Karpinski".

Back to basic leadership he says.

I listened to the POS...my wife was in fear for the life of her TV.

He's claiming that any prosecution of the people who did these acts would only be a coverup for the generals. He is a sick, twisted POS.

My ears perked up when I heard him say that his nephew said the photos were STAGED for the purpose of intimidation. STAGED. Did anyone else hear this?

Hitlery Rotten was one of the senators, right? I guess sweater boy decided he didn't want to meet Ron Brown and Jim McDougal in the near future and clammed up.

I heard taken for that purpose---but did not catch the word "staged". But I get your drift...I don't think he meant staged, though, as he said his nephew's notes from January comport exactly with the Taguba report, including charges of murder.

Let's assume we were CIA agents and we wanted such photos to use in our interrogations.

Would we not take them with our own CIA cameras and keep the images in CIA hands? Would we be giving out image CD's as souveniers to these guys? Would we be allowing these bozos to trade these images like baseball cards and allow them to be mailed home to their uncle?

As I recall, weren't the photos taken by that female whose father was a police detective and whose father would share grisly photos with her?

I just posted about an appearance by England's lawyers on Keith Olberman's show. I'm going to go cut and paste it over here...there's some interesting information...

***"Off topic, but the preganat Lyndie English, doesn't have one, or two, but three lawyers. They were on the talking head shows this morning.
Who's paying for three lawyers? Now there is a good question."***

I remembered someone saying this and actually hunted up your post to make these comments:

The three lawyers I'll guess you saw this morning were also just on Keith Olberman's show on MSNBC (one very heavy lady?, two men, one-McGuire-with some type of accent?).

They said they had not spoken with "their client" yet, then proceeded to give "their understanding" of the why's and wherefore's of her being ordered to take and participate in these pictures and said it was at the behest of the CIA and intelligence (the same story the others involved in the pictures are claiming).

The heavy woman even added that she's learned (Keith did not ask her HOW, since she said it wasn't from her client) that the pictures were also used to boost morale amongst the troops! That was a new one on me.

Keith then said Jim Mik has learned that a lot of the video shows consensual sex between England and Grainer (sp?). The heavy woman said she failed to see how that was relevent to why her client was ordered to deal with Iraqi prisoners in the manner she was. (I'm just reporting what was said. Naturally, I can think of plenty).

Then Olberman brought in a fourth woman. A very young snot who says she's offering her services on the legal team because she has taken umbrage at how young, 21 year old England was being made a scapegoat.

All very interesting (especially the consensual sex videos, IMO. Shows a certain propensity and kinkiness all by itself) and I didn't know where else to post this information.

I forgot to add, Grainer is the father of England's baby?

I just posted the other day I hoped they didn't tape the conception. Either they did--or the warm-up sessions.

Guard units tend to be heavily made up of cops and prison guards, and most guardsmen are veterans of other services. I would expect reserve units to have a similar makeup.

In other words, these guys are not wet behind the ears, they are older guys who have been around and in many cases should be steadier than regular army.

So the fact that these people in question are reservists or guardsmen is not in itself a justification for their actions.

I agree with your points about if the CIA wanted these for that purpose they would not be spread about like that and allowed to be on CDs and the like.

As you'll see, England's attorneys (a veritable stable of them) just got through giving the same line about the CIA and then this one added that they were used to boost the morale of the troops. She did say what she meant by that was they were shown around and it would be explained that these images would be made to break other prisoners and that it was working. It was very odd sounding, and as you say--it sounds "off".

BTW, the girl who took many of the pictures and was raised on crime-scene photos is named Sabrina Harman...

I also heard today about a guy (name escapes me) who also took some pictures.

Wow! That CIA cameraman really got around. ;-)

Hmmmm.......The U.S. Army had previously told the news media that there had been "cruelty and sexual abuse of detainees". However, the news media and the Democrats and Hackworth claim that it was a "cover-up" unless the X-rated photos were released to the public so everyone from Poughkeepsie to Pakistan could download a copy over the Internet.

Sounds like another cover-up to me.

I demand that those England and Grainer videos be posted on the Internet as downloadable video files! No more cover-ups!! ;-)

I just went looking for a report to buttress what I heard. I see MSNBC posts transcripts of their shows, but it takes several hours and may be tomorrow before I can find it.

Hopefully I'll hear it again...

Of course a camera can be set on a tripod or shelf and set up by the loving couple themselves...

Oh good--am I correct that Keith said Jim Mik is saying his sources say a lot of the video is England and her guy having consensual sex?

And those lawyers were ODD.
