Very nice photo of him, great face. I don't understand why his captors offered sedation to him though. I mean if the goal was slitting his throat and finally decapitation what would could possibly be the point of sedation?

Please forgive me if I offend anyone...not my intent.
Maybe the sedation is for the same reason some doctors now believe pre-born babies should be sedated before they're aborted (late-term abortions). To alleviate some of the "discomfort".
This is all enough to make a sane person crazy!

I mean if the goal was slitting his throat and finally decapitation what would could possibly be the point of sedation? I'm fairly certain they just flat-out killed him. Do muslims offer sedatives to their own women and children before murdering them?
Not to take away from the death of this man...I recall a couple of photos where it was pretty clear that he was flipping-off his murderers.

I mean if the goal was slitting his throat and finally decapitation what would could possibly be the point of sedation? So that it would be less difficult for them. He probably looked them in the eye, looked deep into their eyes as they slit his throat.
May they never close their eyes without seeing his.
