This is part of a lead story in a major US daily newspaper. Feel free to freepmail me if you need to know which one.
Commander: No plans yet to close Abu Ghraib
The commander of U.S. detention facilities in Iraq said Saturday the military will continue to operate the Abu Ghraib prison despite calls from some U.S. lawmakers to close it because of a scandal over the abuse of Iraqi inmates.

Why not put the source in your article?

Ahh. I see. I can't believe they won't even allow excerpts.

Why should it be closed?

From what I understand the US uses only a small area of the complex.
And the Senate is asking the Pentagon to destroy other peoples property.

LOL! short & sweet
I have some ideas as well.
Some of us FReepers, like myself, have writing skills, but are not article posters.
I read, comment and expound, but I have never started a single thread.
In the coming days, when I feel froggy and lucid (lol)I will take one of these press articles, and rewrite it!
I can attribute the same quotes the original writer did,(assuming they were public) and tell the story differently with my own emphasis.
No sentence or paragraph will have any relationship to the article because it is now commentary. I will post the source or sources.
The same thing that O'really does, (poorly) each night.
I will give it a shot.
