I don't think the band wound up with too much either, considering the contracts of the time. The Outsiders did three albums, but Time was the only hit. Superb material.
Session men, which your cousins were likely considered, at least got paid for their work. Usually the actual writers and band performers got butkis in comparison.
At least The Outsiders were signed to Capitol, instead of Epic, like their contemporaries The Remains. Now that's a Boston disaster if I ever read one.

I think you are right about no one in the band making a whole lot of money besides Sonny Geraci. The flip side 'Precisous and Few' was also a hit.
