In today's testimony before the Armed Services Committee Hillary Clinton may have revealed the source of the leak of the report. Please have a look at the relevant snippets of the transcript from today.
I guess my theory is this: If she isn't behind the leak, she knows exactly who is.

My first record was 'Time Won't Let Me' by the outsiders, my cousins sang backup on that song.

Gary was wearing shades and jumping around. Debbie was hot, as always.
The 1976-77 season was the best. Brian Ferry I think was on the same program, doing Price of Love and Let's Stick Together.

"Puff the Magic Dragon." Bwahahah. That was taught in 1st or 2nd grade. I had no idea it was a druggie song.
Maybe that explained why Pink Floyd was "Band of the Year" when I graduated from High School.(97)

For some reason, Sweet "Fox on the Run" was playing through my head while writing that scene.
Guess that means I'll have burn some CDs eventually, huh?

Why, thanks for the compliment. Though there are many more fitting of the title. For instance, the WFMU fair tomorrow will be overrun with such.
Poor Daniel. He missed out on when Michigan had a music scene. Died with the Romantics.

Well, General Karpinski (and the others accused in the report) likely had access to the report (and maybe the pictures).
In a response to questioning regarding the timeline of events from Senator Sessions,
General Myers testified:
"It's important to point out as we go through it, and I had it in my opening statement, and I know we need to do things quickly and full disclosure and everything,
but this 15-6 report, is what's called in the Army, the Taguba report, can result in administrative action such relief from command and other administrative admonishments to military personnel. So it has to be very, very thorough.
And that's why you'll see it was started and requested in 16 January. It was not approved by General Sanchez until 1 May, and the reason it isn't is because, as you go through the various chains,
the people that are implicated in wrongdoing have a chance to look at the report and rebuttal the report. And that's part of this process that I think we owe it to our troops to uphold."
I'm not sure General Karpinski or most of the others directly accused had much of a motive to make the report public, however. I guess a sleazy civilian defense lawyer may have viewed it as a way to manage the media so that the DoD wouldn't have the stomach to court marshall her. If that was the strategy, it doesn't seem to have worked. Besides, it's likely a separate crime to release a confidential in the first place in and of itself.
But there's something even more interesting that Freepers caught in the live thread. In the House hearings, Representative Weldon made a
request that Rummy
"look into a platoon leader that evidently was aware of these actions and a commander who has been transferred, but I understand not yet reprimanded or had charges brought, who is a staff member to a sitting member of Congress, to see whether or not there was any special treatment granted."
Perhaps this mystery staffer is the leaker, having recieved a copy of the report from others in his unit.
Now, whose staffer could that be?
