"Kerry's too much of a narcissist to ever pull out of a race. He thinks he's God's gift to humanity."
I agree. They would have to kill him 1st.

Kerry will never be down 10-15 points.
The fact is that the polls are already loaded, so a 10 point poll lead would mean at least 15 in reality and, I hate to say it, more than 35% of the population will vote for Kerry either because they are die-hard democrats, or because they hate Bush.

This is a sound, metered analysis. Of course, it is one of many possible entries, but it IS possible. In fact, the laconic, almost lazy, approach of many conservatives to the notion of a slam-dunk presidential election belies the presence of too many younger, arrogant neo-cons in the movement's pundits and columnist ranks. The clinton menace is real and unlike some fairy tales and political leaders, they have not gone to sleep for a thousand years

It doesn't matter whose name is situated where on the ballot. The thing a lot of people forget, even after 2000, is that
we do not vote for George Bush or John Kerry. We vote for electors who are pledged to vote, but who cannot be forced to vote, for a particular candidate. If Kerry pulls out, whatever Democratic electors are installed can vote for whoever they please.
That said, this whole scenario is tinfoil territory. Hillary! is waiting for 2008; her interests are served by having Kerry lose in 2004, so she doesn't have to run against an incumbent in 2008.

Hillary is the absolute, perfect personification of evil and the antithesis of everything that defines our precious country.
IMHO, she and her husband may well be the Anti-Christ.
Those who wish her to be POTUS are mentally weak and easily lead.

Alum. foil..they're using the new NON-STICK kind, the regular, or the heavy duty variety. ...I prefer the heavy duty variety x3.
...but, I digress; $hrillary is still a threat, in any form and/or office...no joke. :/

Yes,she is,but she is NOT running, this year, for the presidency and she will NOT be anointed either.
To: Vigilanteman
The sheeple need to be led to expect this very scenario so, even if it doesn't happen exactly as outlined, they will be conditioned to think Hindenberg, the figurehead, and Hitler, the real power. ..very good points..hammer it often and loud...and watch out for the "gentlemen, don't attack ladies" factor...$hrillary isn't one.

LOL:
Not to put too fine a point on it, but Senator Kerrys quality of life now depends on the continued goodwill of his second wife. The speedboat, the private jet, the $250 bespoke shirts, the $8000 bicycle, and most of all the effortless mastery of material desire are intoxicating, I am sure. When he was between wealthy wives, he found life on a mere Senators salary uncomfortable. As Susan Estrich delicately put his circumstances at the time, He didnt have a bed to sleep in.

Kerry won't pull out.
I know EXACTLY how a political convention works.;unlike some here.
She isn't running, she isn't going to have Kerry whacked, and she isn't going to be anointed at the Dem convention.
To: upchuck
IMHO, she and her husband may well be the Anti-Christ.
I've held that opinion for several years. Look in their eyes and one can see pure evil.

Even if he has no chance of winning? Does anybody remember the intern scandal that mysteriously died out???
What if Newsweek finally decided to run it?
Or, what if Kerry's down by so many points there's no chance of winning? Wouldn't he be better off stepping down due to scandal or health instead of being crushed by Bush?
I don't think it will happen, but I do think we're fools if we don't at least talk about it. If there's rumors flying around about this in public, I don't think they'll be able to pull it off. Everybody would see right through it.
To: nopardons
The conservatives here give too much credence to Hillary's power. I hope she runs. Let's slam-dunk this poison pill back to Park Ridge. Stop being so afraid of the dark. Sheesh!

It's all of that tinfoil they wrap their heads in...it cuts off the blood flow to their brains.
I've been refuting their delusions for over a year now. You'd think they'd finally get it.*sigh*

If Senator Kerry were to suddenly announce that on advice of his physicians he is stepping down, to save his life because the stress of campaigning was threatening his health, who could raise an eyebrow more than millimeter or two? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?
"who would raise an eybrow?" Please.
