I gutshot the crap out of the first one I ever got (though 2 other hits made it fast). My Grandpap walked up as I was staring at the ugly mess and just said "well, dig in boy!". Needless to say, I've avoided that situation in the intervening ~25 years (but I haven't gone in about 11 since I'm in CA now and it's a pain in the ass to hunt here).

Faked video, 2nd rate animated commercial. I could have built this in Flash with stock footage in 15 minutes. Crop circles are more convincing.

Space weapons are the biggest con since the Patriot Missle, which has never been proven to be an effective missile killer. That was clearly demonstrated in the Gulf War where one of Saddam's SCUDs was "intercepted" by a Patriot that hadn't even left it's launcher. American soldiers in Iraq have to buy their own armored vests because the Army doesn't have enough supply, yet billions are wasted on this malarkey.

Of course. Anyone following your posts would know that you'd have a problem dealing with an Israeli/American defense project ;).

Israel wasn't necessarily needed but they are an ally and were awarded the "second source" contract that all military applications must have.
I beleive it was the gov. way of keeping them involved, especially since they bought lots of the platform systems the lasers were designed to be used on.

This is a tactical laser, not space. I believe it has yet to miss. I've also read Air Force One is equipped with it. You appear to be correct regarding the movement of the unit, however, I believe the missle detonations in flight are actual footage. Not sure why you would consider this a "con".
