" You don't need a criminal record to have your fingerprints with the FBI. Mine went there 3 different times for 3 different reasoms, and I have never been remotely part of a criminal investigation:

When I worked for an Airline and needed an airport ID.

Thanks to you and others for all the replies. The second part of my question is: does law enforcement have the capability to search a database or databases of ALL known prints on record, for whatever reason? I guess it does, but such a search must require a supercomputer or two to get timely results.

Didn't you have to get printed for that other job?
I was certain that it was a mandatory requirement if you were a Tail-Gunner on a Budweiser Truck.
