You are so right; there IS something "here".......some thread that is running all through this........I just cannot put my finger on it.
The common thread is Vietnam. John F'n Kerry wants to run against LBJ, and the media desperately want to return to the glory days of their youth.
Every time these "scandals" come out - the Memo leak, Clarke/Woodward books, this crap, I keep thinking, this will pass... we'll move on, the voters will forget about this or place it into historical context... I've been saying this for 4,5, maybe 6 months. There's only 6 months left till the election...
Can they really run out the clock the next 6 months, bringing up a new scandal, a new book, shrill charges over nothing... Lying about the economy (jobless growth), then when that's no longer an issue, move to the next issue de jour (i.e. Oil prices, WOT)?
I used to think that we had plenty of time to show the country who Kerry is, and define the issues that would clearly assist President Bush.
With the lying media covering for Kerry, and calling their plays (deciding which stories get priority over others) straight out of the DNC playbook, I'm starting to feel a little concern.
