Lieberman is still a liberal and a Rat, but he's pretty clear-eyed when it comes to the War on Terror. He sees that what we're doing is necessary and he will put the country's future ahead of partisan politics. I tend to lump him together with Tony Blair and Christopher Hitchens in that regard...leftists who are smart enough, and not blinded by partisanship, to see why things are happening and what needs to be done about them, at least in terms of foreign policy.

Despite his other faults, he's been (in general) a defender of the war on terror and of our troops. How sad that this makes him an aberration within his party...
