I heard this on KSFO this morning. They have played the recording at least 3 times already. Can anyone fill in the details? An active military constituent wrote Pete Stark asking about his recent NO vote on the congressional resolution of yesterday. Congressman Pete Stark (D) called back and left the voice mail belittling the person and using foul language. Sussman and Morgan, the hosts, are going to get the recording to Rush this morning. Dont miss the rest of the KSFO, 560AM on the dial, morning program. Maybe someone will have the capability to make a .wav file of the recording. They are calling for Pete Stark to resign!

Stark alleges, among other crazy things, that the letter writer doesn't know he what he's talking about because half of the words in the letter are misspelled, and so somebody must have put him up to it. In the letter I count one typo in the lack of a capitalization of the word "Iraq". That's it, and that ain't "half".
If I were Stark's opponent the next time around, I would use the audio in a campaign commercial.
Cordially,

It simply is astonishing what is happening to the Dems. ......they lost not only their souls but whatever was left of their entire intellectual and moral apparatus to boot. The Democrats didn't loose their souls, morality or intellect, they did not have any to begin with. The Democrats pretense to these qualities are all a sham to get elected, nothing more.

One would need a heart of coldest stone not to laugh out loud at the sight of such an experienced pol stepping on his johnson in such a public manner.
Was the fool drunk? Or did, as my Grandma used to say, his meanness just back up on him?

I heard it as well. Staff Sgt David Dow just returned from a year in Kosovo, dealing in (I think) language and translation. I was JUST STUNNED.
He basically said that he didn't believe that he wrote the letter, and wouldn't understand most of the words in it anyway.
Was Stark drunk?
Disgraceful.

While I'd like to believe that, I'm skeptical, since after all he is a Democrat. In my district in Northern Virginia, we've got a Congressman (Jim Moran) who has beaten his wife, roughed up a 10-year old kid in the street, and insulted Jewish constituents with his remarks about Israel - and these are only a few of his reported incidents. Yet, because he is a Democrat, I assume he'll sail back to the Hill with yet another re-election.Your right. In my state we have a senator Ted Kennedy and a representative Barney Frank and a former representative Gerry Studds and they .... got re-elected. - tom

Stark is an absolute idiot. It's ironic that while idiots got caught because they were stupid enough to take pictures, Stark was stupid enough to leave such a message on voicemail. He's twice stupid. This one will get sufficient air time and blog time to hurt this guy politically.

Plus the threats. He has threatened to "kick the a$$" of a few legislators who have disagreed with him. Propbably a punk pussy who would run away blubbering once he got popped in the nose.

Found this with a google search ("pete Stark" foul mouth statements)
Here is the search URL: HERE
I was reading over on the right side of the blogosphere, and was intrigued by what Dustin Frelich had to say about the recent fracas in the House of Representatives, when Rep. Pete Stark (D of California) called Rep. Scott McIniss (R of Colorado) "a little fruitcake". I hadn't paid a lot of attention to this story of childish politicians until Dustin pointed out that if a Republican had made an anti-gay remark at a Democrat, there would have been a huge outcry, whereas no-one even mildly liberal has called Stark to task for this.
An anti-gay remark? Fruitcake? Sure, I thought, it can mean that, but usually people mean it as a synonym for "lunatic" or "idiot".
Wondering what other people thought of this, and if I was somehow behind the times in my knowledge of slang, I searched around and found an intriguing article from Fox News. Now, Fox News is hardly a liberal bastion or much of a friend to gays, but what they wrote is significant:
While no cameras recorded the event, a stenographer took down every word Stark uttered. Republican Rep. Kenny Hulshof recited them back on the House floor.
"'You little fruitcake, you little fruitcake, I said you are a fruitcake,'" Hulshof, R-Mo., read from the unofficial transcript.
Stark directed the word -- considered by some to be a gay slur -- at Republican Rep. Scott McInnis, who is married and by all accounts not gay.
Republican sources also claim that during the chaotic scene in the committee, Stark fired another gay slur in the direction of Chairman Thomas. The word is too vulgar to print in full, but the last half of it is "sucker." ...
Stark has a long history of making outrageous remarks. He once called Republican Rep. Nancy Johnson "a whore," and said former Health and Human Services Secretary Louis Sullivan is "a disgrace to his race."

Fortney "Pete" Start is indeed a POS. He used to be my congress critter before redistricting. He has always been in a safe district and there is little chance he will be voted out.
