Stock market headed down big time today but Bush will have something to crow about! It's my understanding manufacturing added jobs in April also. Good news for the election, bad news for investors.

This ought to make the dems questioning Rummy even testier.... This ought to be good. I smell a rope-a-dope which isn't too difficult when dealing with Dems and RINOs....

and the markets will dive expecting higher interest rates - they need to GET A GRIP. REALITY CHECK. WAKE UP CALL. 1.5%-3% interest rates would normally be considered fantastic in a growing economy. An Greenspan already has been burned for shutting down the economy during the 1992 presidential campaign and then again artificially propping the economy up in 2000 (by saying the economy was still overheating while it was really deflating...) A recovery is good news for business - period. Now gas prices on the other hand... (alaska, alaska, alaska, ... caribean, caribean, caribean...)

I'll wait for the 'household survey' numbers which are a much better indicator of job growth.

What is it? The spike in oil prices as supply is growing?
Strange days.

Yeah but the 288,000 includes the striking workers who returned to work at Mom and Pops Bait&Tackle shop.

The pundits predicted about 178,000 new jobs - they underestimated by 100,000.
Say Kerry, spin this.
