Ok, I just read the interview.
What a small small world.
Very odd, being as the prisoner story is THE story of the week, then tonight this Portland arrest, and the guy who says he's the arrested guy's friend and mentor (but alas, not representing him, although he himself is a lawyer---which I thought was interesting when I first read those comments) is also in THE story of the week and was on Hardball last night.
Weird.

The details just keep rollin' in...
Wife Of Accused Lawyer Speaks Out
ALOHA - Friends and family are speaking out in defense of the Portland lawyer being held as part of the investigation into the deadly train bombings in Spain.
...
Brandon converted to Islam in 1989, she says, and attends a mosque in Beaverton. Mona immigrated to the U.S. from Egypt and has three children.

ALOHA - Friends and family are speaking out in defense of the Portland lawyer being held as part of the investigation into the deadly train bombings in Spain. Aloha means goodbye...

I thought that last little bit was very interesting, as most reports say that this guy converted to Islam "recently." In fact, if he converted 15 years ago, that's a quite different, and perhaps, even more worrisome picture.

When Goldschmidt was finishing his term as governor he announced he would not run for re-election (he would have won easily, IMO) stating that his wife adamantly didn't not want him to. At the time I didn't buy his story. He was too much of a political gadfly, loved the limelight and the attention. A while later his wife divorced him. It all fits now.

And Mona Mayfield wears a rag on her head!
One less John Kerry supporter in America.

Oregon's not that bad; Portland (and immediate vicinity) is.
Extremist nonsense of all sorts has been tolerated and even embraced for far too long. The kooks need to be exposed and shunned, once and for all.
And thrown out of office, first of all.
Anyone in Multnomah county that has not yet signed the recall petition on Diane Linn should do so forthwith.

Actually if one can live and work in Vancouver, WA(across the river from Portland), all in all it is a great place to live, right? No income tax, no sales tax if you buy your stuff in Oregon, affordable housing, great summers, snow is rare, and incredibly scenery nearby in every direction.

National Lawyers Guild is a real lovely group.
Quite often they are linked with Looneyatarians in their Hate America speaking programs disguised as patriotism.
