I'll tell you right now that I am sorry Clinton was elected in 1992 and 1996. That does not mean I accept any responsibility for those unfortunate events. The press is just jumping on the word "sorry" to try to blame Bush for the scandal.

As I said before, though, Bush is playing to the Arab propaganda machine, not domestic politics. This issue will disappear in the US very quickly. Bush is trying to keep it from getting legs in the Middle East.

The sad part is that someone leaked the pictures in an effort to damage Bush politically without regard for the damage it will do to our Middle East Policy and our troops in the field. Further, the release of the photos clearly has caused greater humiliation to the "victims" and will no way increase the punishment of the photo-takers. If I, as a prosecutor, had released the photos I would have been guilty of violating the victims rights. Then why can the press hide behind the anonymity of sources when they, themselves, have wronged the "victims" by publicizing the photos?
