To have the President apologize,does not mean that he accepts responsibility for anything.The act of saying you are sorry can be viewed in different circumstances.If you drop a rock on your wifes toe,then you would say I am sorry, to tell her you didn't mean to do that.You could also be sorry to see all the bickering on this thread.It doesn't mean you did anything,it just implies certain actions are upsetting to see.
I don't view the Presidents apology as a big issue,he has important matters to attend to and want to put the harping of the sorry media behind him.

The media's like -- the whole Blue Nation is like -- a hard-up crack head.
Giving in to them doesn't "put them behind you." They just attack you
harder the next time 'cause that's how they got their fix the last time they freaked.
