I hope you are not married. If you are married, I hope your spouse sees your post. PErsonally, I would hold in contempt anyone who would starve a dog to death, much less a human being. You should pray to God to have mercy on your soul.

I am married. And my wife is the person that God has join me to. Should I be unable to speak for myself, she and not the court, the church, or the state or anyone else (other than God) is empowered to decide the manner of my death.

If I were in Terri's place I would want the tube pulled, and I have a living will to that effect. Terri however does not and it would appear the husband may have some other motivations. A difficult situation indeed for all invovled. In this case I would err on the side of caution and have her life continue.

Do you have your living will in order?

And who would step in if your wife was corrupted somehow?
Would you still wish your spouse to determine your fate if she was carrying on with and having babies with another man? If she was bound to you, why then would she be out making children with another person? You presume that we are dealing with a spouse who loves and is invested in his wife. He is not, he is invested in an adulterous(he's still married to Terri) relationship with another woman. If this was her wish all along, why did Michael fight so hard to win money in the beginning for her long term care and therapy? Wouldn't he have moved from the very beginning to allow her life to be ended? He could still have fought for a settlement that would compensate for the loss of life and disability instead of lying about needing the money to rehab and care for her. Something is a little fishy here.

What if she was the one who caused you to be unable to speak for yourself. What if it's she and her fiance and the two kids they had together were the ones speaking for you? What if she won a cool million for treatment for you but then denied any and all treatment including something as simple as an antibiotic shot for an infection? What if she denied your family and friends from visiting you? What if even though you were capable of watching tv and responding to it, she pulled it and all the pictures out of your room? What if it were only her fiance who was allowed in your room? In Terri's case, none of this is "what if". In Terri's case this is real life.

What I think you don't understand is that the court "has" ordered Terri's death. Would you want the court to make the decision for you if you had no living will? This is what has happened to Terri. I certainly don't want them making the decisions for me, especially when the judges in this case can't even read the statutes which should protect everyone and have allowed them to be broken from day one.

Funny how some people want to retain their own rights, but they don't think Terri deserves the same rights. You don't think the court, the church, or the state has the right to decide that you must be murdered, but you sure are anxious to see it happen to Terri. That's pretty sick.

You haven't been paying attention to this case. Educate yourself.

Thou shalt not kill

You will notice that there is no "unless your spouse decides" or "except under these circumstances" attached to God's commandment.

How hypocritical of you to say that God joined you with your wife in one sentence and then presume that you or your wife have more wisdom than his holy commandments in the next.

All of you people who are screaming for Terri's death are doing so because you are afraid of your own mortality, and all you can see is yourself in her position.

Cowards usually don't make very wise decisions.

You all need to stop thinking about yourselves and start thinking about what the consequences of legalized, FORCED death will be in our nation.

All it will take is one well publicized case like Terri's to set the precedence. The elderly and infirm will become disposable goods. The sick will be murdered in their beds to save the insurance companies a buck or two.

Its time for Americans to get tough, stop being selfish cry babies, and realize that Terri's death could quite possibly herald the beginning of the end of our 'so called' civilized society.

So basically you've instructed your wife to murder you when you become really sick. Hey now!

Dear Wheee,

Please stop posting your derogatory comments about Terri. I suggest that you stop posting on Free Republic because you obviously do not care about Terri's case. Many people care about her and people like her. Please stop abusing the space on Free Republic. Thank you.

Yes, starving to death...a death you would not inflict on an animal will be so much pleasure for you.
