Jim Robinson lives in California and therefore more than likely doesn't have a handle on Florida Campaign Laws. They are very rigid, especially for Judges.
FR_addict, please read my freepmail to you.

He googled while I was on the phone and he brought up the Catholic League's attorney, Chris Ferrara whom I had the privilege of meeting this fall. A person from New Mexico in a phone bank - what are the chances he's Catholic? Probably as good a chance that the Pope's Catholic.

Jim Robinson lives in California and therefore more than likely doesn't have a handle on Florida Campaign Laws. They are very rigid, especially for Judges. I don't live in Florida either and I don't want to do anything that interferes with the new candidate's campaign, but I don't believe that drawing attention to this man's candidacy will hurt him.
I would think it is perfectly acceptable to let others know that he is running and to list his bio.
I asked Jim Robinson about my post because I want to abide by Free Republic rules. If there is something I am not aware of in the rules here then Jim can straighten me out.
Of course, if the candidate does not want us to discuss his candidacy on Free Republic, I will also abide by his wishes. Otherwise, I think a discussion of his candidacy is perfectly acceptable in this forum.

I have just signed a few of the petitions and cut and pasted the message in an e-mail to as many people as I could.
I can't believe this is happening all over again.

Given the lack of any advance directives for health care in this case, the decisions are and always have been the dominion of the courts. That should shock all of us! They're saying that anyone who doesn't specifically request their Constitutional right to life in advance, forfeits that right to the courts.
The Florida State Legislature and Governor Jeb Bush made a grave error in their effort to overturn the evidentiary decisions of several courts in regard to a person's expressed wish about her own health care.
What evidentiary decisions? None of the decisions have been based on the evidence. The Florida State Legislature and Governor Jeb Bush stepped in to reverse the decision to go against Terri's wishes.
Each of us has the right to choose within the law to maintain control over how we live and how we die.
Except Terri.

I don't live in Florida either but I will support the ones that do to remove Greer from the bench. I hope this campaign goes national and that every decision he has ruled on against Teri follows him all the way thru the campaign. There has been talk here that Terri shouldn't be linked with a candidate or they might be dis-qualified from running. I guess Judge Greer about to find out if this is so.

Jay Wolfson saw Terri on a daily basis and most of his remarks CUT IN TERRI'S FAVOR. This, in spite of the fact that he was on was on MS's side before he met Terri. She must have made one hell of an impression!

I'm way behind in this thread, and trying to catch up. I don't know if we're Freeping this poll, but we should be. I just voted, and it's not good.

a. I agree with this ruling (47%) 28,468
b. I disagree with this ruling (38%) 22,492
c. I don't know anything about this (6%) 3,638

Wartime, Adolf Hitler suggested, "was the best time for the elimination of the incurably ill." Many Germans did not want to be reminded of individuals who did not measure up to their concept of a "master race." The physically and mentally handicapped were viewed as "useless" to society, a threat to Aryan genetic purity, and, ultimately, unworthy of life. At the beginning of World War II, individuals who were mentally retarded, physically handicapped, or mentally ill were targeted for murder in what the Nazis called the "T-4," or "euthanasia," program.

THE GOLDEN RULE: You gotta pick a good corner or befriend strangers before you casually bring up Terri in conversation. Lunging and premature flyers are out. Acting casual seems to work for me anyway. We'd all do well to remember this. The passion we feel for Terri can be pretty scary to someone who's never heard of her. While our passion is well placed, it can tend to make us look like lunatics to anyone who doesn't already know most of the story; and then they don't want to listen to us, or they don't believe us because we have no credibility. After they listen, then their passion will rise to meet ours.
