These new photos add very little to the story that's not already known. Their supposed news value is outweighed by the damage they can cause to our troops. Im not advocating news censorhip but this is a story in which the particulars are already known and are being vigorously invesitgated. Releasing yet another daily photo of a naked prisoner accomplishes nothing journalistically or legally, but it does keep the story at the top of every Al Jazeera news hour.
At a certain point, photos are just published because journalists are lazy, and it's easy to simply publish another shocking visual than to do some actual news gathering and analysis. There comes a point of diminishing news value, when we cross from journalism to a form of "news pornography". I think we've just about reached that point.

Plus it takes the Vets against Kerry and the Gorelick stories off the front pages.
This is an old lefty trick. They did it all the time with Slick's scandals.
